perhaps two points to take note of. 1. food hygiene is very important and the standard is definitely not as high as that in Singapore. 2. it's always better to be accompanied by a local when you make a purchase and remember to bargain! actually i want to go to Tibet as well, but it is important and necessary to go together with a tour group... perhaps we can all go together one day... have lots of fun there! looking forward to your updates!

yeah. Harish.. its really cheap... just the ticket's expensive. You can get a decent meal for less than $2, even cheaper if your standards for food hygiene is lower... :D

Sounds like lot of fun. I always wanted to go to China myself. Just need to save enough money for a return flight ticket and I'll be off :)

Living and travelling within China shouldn't be that expensive is it? It might be a little bit more expensive than India, but compared to Europe or the rest of the developed Asia (Japan, HK or Sg) it should be really cheap.
